The Founder

The Connoisseur was founded by Sabyasachi Moulik, Founding Director of SMGH Group, the parent company. His conviction is straightforward: India's finest art deserves to be presented with the same care, documentation and discretion afforded to the great houses of Europe — and reached from anywhere in the world.
That belief shapes how the house works. Artists and partner galleries are selected personally and few in number, so each relationship stays close and each work can be traced to the hand that made it. Provenance is documented before a piece is offered, never after.
The house operates entirely online, by design. It allows the collection to be considered quietly, in your own time, with counsel available whenever you want it.
